Pubs in East London are expected to see a major drop in the number of pirate DVD sellers following a raid on the UK’s biggest DVD piracy factory.
More than 500 DVD burners, capable of producing more than 60,000 pirate DVDs per day, were seized during the raid in Leyton on Wednesday April 5. Four men and a woman were arrested in the sting operation which we reported <a href="http://www.dvd-recordable.org/Article2588.phtml" last thursday.
Gavin Douglas, group manager, Public Protection for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, said: “We believe the raid will have a major impact on the pirate DVD sellers operating in the local area and will help reduce the criminal activity brought into local communities by this and associated crimes.”
