Next The 3-D DVD
Posted Apr 23, 2008 - 05:18 PM

Latest News The DVD Forum announced that they have plans to study a possible incorporation of 3D movie technology into the DVD format specifications.

Currently the industry wants information about 3D technologies and wants to see a proposal from The DVD Forum, which is responsible for both licensing and specifications of the DVD and HD DVD formats.

After May 17 The DVD Forum will start notifying respondents and the organisation will decide wether 3D-technology needs to be included in the DVD's format specifications.

Interested companies are asked to help and are welcome to give ideas of possible technologies. The research could help the DVD format to last even longer when it will be incorporated with 3D-technology.

Many people will keep their usual DVD players and wait a little longer before buying high-definition devices.
