Pioneer DVR-107 Firmware Patched

Our regular contributor Flash says: "Thanks to >NIL: from the Firmware Forum we have the patched firmware for the Pioneer 107. This firmware makes the drive RPC1 region free, removes the 2x rip speed limitation for DVD-VIDEO and enables 8 speed burning to any DVD-R media. I have been involved in the testing of this firmware and I am impressed with the 8x speed results from RITEKG04 4x speed media and PRINCO 4x media. You can download it from our downloads section."

As you can see the better quality media gives a better read graph and I can imagine with the lower grade medias that the burns produced will be unusable like this one.



The RPC1 patch removes the region limitation of the drive and enables playing DVD-Videos of any region without resetting the drive. The 2x rip speed limitation removes the speed limit of pressed encrypted DVD-Video and read speeds can rise up to 12x speed.

In conclusion this hack provides you with the ability to burn any media at 8x speed and if used sensibly will produce good burns at this speed but don’t expect miracles good media will burn well and bad media will fail so if in doubt test the media first and only use media that you know to be good. You can always set the speed a little lower as this firmware allows all speeds 8x, 6x, 4x, 2x, & 1x. Personally I keep my preferences to 4x and adjust it when I select my media.
