Big Demand For Bag O’ Crap Date Wednesday, March 12 @ 16:02:18 Topic Latest News
| It has been described as the worst deal ever, but a brown bag full of crappy items is proving to be a huge hit amongst computer geeks throughout the UK.
Online retailer Big Pockets, bigpockets.co.uk, is struggling to keep up with demand for its quirky bag o’ crap offer which is selling at the knockdown price of £2.99. They have sold 4000 of them in the last 48 hours. The electronics, gadgets and IT specialist is filling the lucky bag with three crappy items that would have otherwise been cluttering up its warehouse.
The goods are guaranteed to be of the value of £2.99, however the real value is in how much use the buyer has for the random unwanted products.
There is also the chance for everyone who orders a bag o’ crap to win £500 by posting a link, review or a video of them opening the bag and discovering how crappy their crap is.
Big Pockets managing director Cheryl Hardwick described the genius idea behind the offer that is causing a stir amongst computer enthusiasts throughout the UK.
The offer is based on a Japanese concept which is called a Fukubukuro where merchants make grab bags filled with unknown random contents and sell them for a substantial discount, usually 50% or more of the list price of the items contained within.
She said: “In a recent stock control audit we found that we had range of items that were cluttering up our warehouse. We only had about two or three left per line and it certainly wasn’t enough to list them on our website.
“There was obviously still a level of value in these products so we decided to put three in a bag and get somebody to buy them.
“We expected it to be a big hit but the level of interest has been incredible with consumers flooding on to our website to get their very own bag o’ crap.
“The interest continues to rise as the word on the offer spreads and we will certainly meet this extra demand whilst offering an extensive range of further specialist electronic and IT products.”
Users are encouraged to post videos of the Random crap that is turning up in their bag of crap on the bigpockets website.
