Gradius & Nil have hacked the firmware for the Pioneer A05/105 to enable 2x writing to all media and although this is still in the test stages the results are favourable.

Applying Hacked firmware can invalidate your warranty and although it has been extensively tested before the report was submitted we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your drive or system whilst flashing the firmware or afterwards.

When flashing the firmware (hacked or otherwise) there is always a slight risk of something going wrong and sometimes it will not flash for a number of reasons. Have a look at the discussions on Firmware forums. Only apply the hacked firmware if you understand the risk and are prepared to accept the consequences.
