01ne 4x DVD-R Review
Our friends at disQworld have kindly given us permission to reproduce an independent review by their members of the new 01ne 4x discs.
The members of disQworld were each sent a couple of free sample discs (something that happens regularly
over there ;) ) and asked in return to "give a report which provides the following information. 1) What equipment you used to test the disk. 2) How it rated for compatibility on the various pieces of equipment you tested it on." and any other thoughts they had on the discs. Here are the results:

So far I have used 200 of these disks. I am happy with them. They are recognised on my machine and all my mates. The only thing ive noticed with them is that the beffer fluctuates all the time when using dvd decryptor. I have never had it do that with other media, but the disk burns and plays
fine
antz1970 altho i never participated in this test i recently purchased 25 of these dvd-rs, i have burned around 20 of these discs (@4x) on a pio 105 with hacked firmware (2x4all) runnin on an athlon 2000xp ,758 pc2100 ddr , and win xp with service pack 1, not had one coaster so far, they seem like pretty good blanks, play fine in my yamada standalone (altho everything does lol) cant get em to read on a matsui dvd125, (but its a b*****d of a machine). hope this helps

i ripped the disks using decrypter, shrunk it with dvd shrink 2.00
and burned with nero, i tested the both disks on my pc, pioneer 444s
(can be fusy) and goodmans 14"
dvd/tv combo (this to can be fussy) both disks played with no problems at all, very inpressed with the quality.
only really used datawrite before but going to get myself a stash of these.

Received the 2 disks this morning. Was pleasantly surprised to find they had a nice shiny silver surface.
System: Athlon 1800XP, Windows XP, Pioneer A05 Firmware 1.00
Burned DVD movie (4.2gb approx) on the first disk, using recordnow
max, took around 15 minutes, although burn proof did appear to kick in
for a few seconds but didnt
affect the burn. Played the movie on PS2, XBOX, Pacific 1002 and Pioneer 340 and no problems. No skipping at the end.
Second disk I burned an XBOX game (4gb approx) using recordnow max,
but this time no problems with burn proof kicking in. Game played as
well as expected, no skipping
or pausing.
Overall another good quality disk that I shall add to my shopping list.

Got the disks this morning, both had damage, one had a large scratch and the other had scuff marks, but I did burn them.

Dansai 852
Mirror 110
Panny e30
Scan 2000
Xbox
Wrote the same movie at x4 onto each disk using Nero. Both burn't
within 15 mins with no problems, I didn't expect that would because of
the marks.
Both disks played okay on all but the panny, the one with the scuff marks did work and the other stopped and started.
I do like the silver top on these disks and they seemed really
good, unless the price drops nearer to the datawrite reds (73p) then I
won't be buying them.
mheman These disks look exactly like the on1e dvd+rw disks, which I use
with my Phillips DVD 880 recorder and they work fine so I was looking
forward to testing these DVD-R
disks.
The hardware I used to burn these disks –
NEC ND1300 DVD Burner
Intel P4 2Gh 512Mb Ram
Nero 5.5
First burn I tried a video image of 4.580Gb using nero. Nero
recognised the disk as 4 speed so I went for a 4 speed burn. Things
were looking great upto 99% and then
nero reported a write error. So a failure on the first disk.
Second burn again 4.58 Gb at 4 speed burnt fine. 14:34 mins
Tested the disk on a Sony DVPS700 DVD player and worked fine, also fine on my Phillips DVD 880 recorder.
I was hoping for good things with these disks especially as the
DVD+RW disks of the same brand were so good. I was disappointed with
the burn failure on the first. The appearance/construction of the disk is good but I unsure if I would
buy this disk. Was a bit rough around the edge of the disk though.
I much preferred the datasafe red/yellow from the last test (which I had no failures at 4 speed)
Thanks for letting me review the disks.

I was more than a little surprised to see these disc's hit the mat
this morning as I did not see my name on the list of testers and
thought I had missed out. I proceeded to burn a 4.34 gig movie to the first dosc. The burn
went smoothly and took just over 15 mins to complete. I then ran the
disc through Nero CD Speed which gave me 2 perfect lines. I have only ever come this close to
perfect using RITEK disc's in the past. I then played the disc on my
LOGIX 3000. It picked up the disc quickly and the chapter skips were as quick as a retail disc. I
also fast forwarded the disc to find that in ran smoothly on all speeds
right up to the max 64x of my
player. I then watched the last 20 mins of the film which was absolutely flawless.
I also tried the disc on the following players with perfect results....
XBOX
ALBA 109
ALBA 114
2x PS2's
Liteon 166s DVD rom drive
I used the second disc to make an XBOX multi game disc. All games
loaded flawlessly and the FMV was smooth with no skipping. Again, CD
SPEED showed an all but perfect
burn.
These discs have come as a breath of fresh air. They feel good,
Look good and burn and play brilliantly. I will be trying them on a
wider range of equipment asap but on this evidence would buy these discs over RITEKS but only if the
price was justifiably lower. I am about to check the price out now.
Foolish Well I got in from work to find an envelope on the door mat. I
opened it to see two 4x ONE DVD-R. They arrived in plastic sleeves and
under inspection had no scratches
or imperfections. I seem to be the last person to receive the disks Maybe nobody loves me
First impressions were that the disks were well made. They looked
proffesional and seemed to be an expensive disk. The dye is a lot
lighter than other disks I have
used, which is mostly RITEK.
So I set about the task of testing these babies

Athlon XP 1600+, 256meg, 60gig HD, Samsung SD-616T DVD-Rom, Pioneer 104 DVD burner V1.41 firmware. Win2k SP3 APSI 4.71a.
Firstly I burnt a 4.3 gig movie image using the latest DVD
Decrypter. It burnt at 2x in a time of 29 mins. On inspection the burn
seemed to be even and to the edge of the disk. I played it back in my Pioneer DV-444 and Sony DVP-PQ1
and both started the intro without any delays. No unusual noises were
apparent. I did several tests
including scan and search and all proved well on both players. Playback was very smooth.
Nero CD Speed
Gave a straight constant curve start 2.91x End 6.99x Ave 5.23x
Secondly another 4.3 gig image. Again it burned in around 29 mins
so there’s consistency there. Intros loaded quickly in both players and
there were no unusual noises.
Did various tests again putting the disk through its limits and there wasn’t no obvious flaws. Playback was smooth.
Nero CD Speed
Gave a straight constant curve start 2.88x End 6.87x Ave 5.15x
So in conclusion, I generally liked the way these disks performed on my stand alone
DVD players and for just £1 a disk seem pretty good value. For me
though I would like to see how compatible these disks actually are. On previous tests I have taken
part in, the disk have performed ok for me then on reading other
reviews they are not as compatible as first seemed. Again it would take a lot for me to change from
the ever so tried and tested RITEK. But if there was ever a shortage
like a time not so long ago then I would consider using these as an alternative. I do like the look
of the disk, I see them as well manufactured and look proffesional. I
am planning to take these
disks to work and test on a number of stand alones there to get more of a feel for them.
Once again I hope this review proves useful and would like to thank
all involved for giving me the opportunity to carry out this test.

Just to add:
I Tried all the disks at work on a Samsung DVD-709, a SCOTT 837 and a SUPRA SD50Z1 DVD players and they all played flawlessly

The Test
Nice plain top to these discs, I like the fact they have lines for writing, it keeps my dodgy handwriting straight!
ADVDInfo: Same as Mr. Grumpy's 's post on page 1.
Dye is a nice even dark blue throughout, similar to the short run of Ritek G03 just before Xmas 2002.
Disc one:
"Crimson Tide" movie only backup, processed by DVD2One v1.1.3 totalling 4465.2MB (4.36Gig). Burned at "Max" in Stomp, 4x was selected straight away. A perfect
burn resulted, which plays nicely in my PS2, with some of the best
chapter skipping I have seen!
Disc two: "Men In Black" movie only backup, again processed by DVD2One v1.1.3
but this time only 3051.5MB (2.98Gig). Yet again a perfect burn at 4x.
And lovely quick load times
and chapter skipping in my PS2.
Conclusion: Very, very good indeed. I will most certainly be buying a batch of
these to test further, and if that goes well then I may finally have
found a replacement for the Ritek G04. As long as they continue to cost less of course! If they
do, and O1NE manage to avoid any batch issues this disc looks to be a
winner.
10/10 (so far!).
Thanks to O1NE for providing the test samples.

Just copied Dreamcatcher 4.42gb. Copied well no probs at 4x and

This is a Class A disk well worth a look. Excellent and what is
expected from Datasafe.

The first 01NE disk - Burnt movie on the fly with Prassi Primo in
15mins. Disk played back with no problems in my two standalone players.
The second disk – similar result.
Conclusion: Seems a good choice for 4x DVD-R.
Johnnypanic Received disks yesterday morning. Disks seemed quite dusty and one
had what I would describe as a water-like stain, which thankfully did
not seem to interfer with
burning.
1st Disk.
Burnt Mash Series 4 disk 1.
Sony dru500a 1.0g
Unfortunately only burnt @ 2x, but this is more than likely my burner or setup.
2nd Disk.
Burnt Mash Series 4 disk 2.
Sony dru500a 2.0f
As above only burnt at 2x even with an updated firmware
Playback was excellent on both my minoka dvd player, pc dvdrom and ps2.
No freezes and quick movement between chapters, etc.
Really impressed with these disks. 4x problem is nothing to do with
the disks, so I can't fault them. I have to order some disks this
weekend and I'll be giving
serious consideration to purchasing these.
Thanks for the test disk, this time round I think I'll actually be purchasing some

Burnt a full dvd film (the Hours) just over 4.4 gig at X4 and the whole
dvd burnt in just under 15 mins, tried the dvd on all 5 of my players and was perfect on every player (x box and PS2 as well)..........the
one thing I did notice was the seek time was a lot quicker then on the
datawrite reds or the Bulkpaq
x4 disk and this was across all the players, just a shame about the other disk being damaged.
All in all a very good disk and I like the colour better then the reds
Summit
Got these on wednesday AM. Arrived in a brown envolope in great condition.
Disk1 - burnt in 15 minutes (Gangs of new york full dvd-r) very quick lead in and lead out.
Disk2 - burnt in 14 minutes (How to loose a guy in 10 days) again very quick lead in and lead out.

them.

Disc 1.
Burnt Star Wars Episode 2(4.36gb) as this is well over 2 hours long and is a good test for any disc.
Disc 2. Ripped a demo disc that I have had for a couple of years which has
one of the most complicated menus I have ever seen and plays
continuously if left in a player. Also
4.36gb.
Playback was faultless on my Philips dvdr880 and Sony 735. Discs
were recognised quickly and jumped chapters without delay. I work for a
big retailer so had the chance
to test in various players including some cheapos all without any problems.
Good disc but needs to be a bit cheaper if it wants to compete with
some of the better Princo discs. If there are no batch issues it may
well be the better buy, will
have to wait and see.

Received the two disks wednesday july 02
They arrived in plastic wallets, unscathed bar a few thumbprints that were
easily removed with a wipe on the shirt.
Fairly straightforward looking disk, silver, the usual markings you'd expect.
I ripped 2 dvds to my hard drive using dvdshrink 2.3 and proceded to write
disk no.1
1: dvd video files approx 4.0 gb - used nero (5.5.10.35) , put the relevant
files in the required directories and chose a write at 4x. The disk began
to write after about a minute and a half and took 27 mins to write, so
looks like it dropped to 2x. tried it out on the pc/xbox/dvd player (see
below) and worked with all perfectly
2: for disk 2, I used STOMP. Set to data, I added the AUDIO_TS and
VIDEO_TS directories, chose 4x and set it off. This time it wrote perfectly
at 4x, with no bother. Disk was completed after 15 mins. I then tried the
result on the testing drives, playback was perfect on all, and I was a
happy bunny and fairly impressed.
At the moment i'm still in that fairly mellow phase after recently buying
a 4x drive when in the main i've been use to 1x and 2x, and am fairly
easy to please. The disks have been flawless, the only blot being the
2x peformance with nero - is this down to nero or the writer or the disk?
I think I'll have to buy some more of these to find out, providing the price
is competitive. I get very similar results with the datawrite reds, where
they often drop to 2x. Overall, I like 'em !

smooth-op i gotta say guye these disks are great. i burned a movie dvdr
backup of terminator 2 extream edition on two two disks and they work
in my denon A1 dvd player (£2500) this maching is very picky on what disks it likes. (w8ting of

opinion and have also tested in, ps2,xbox,sony ns700 dvd player, pc dvd player, panasonic lv50
portable and a limit dvd player. they work in all machine and i would
be happy to buy more of these
disks.
I burn these disks using a AMD XP2100, 1.50gb ddr, on a pioneer 105
as this is my first atempt a testing media for you i am very
pleased in my results and hope you will be to. i think i gave it a fair

Disk 1 (this one has scuff marks)
3.74 gig of DiVX at 4x on the fly.
Writing started off ok at 4x, 10 mins in drops to 2x, 1x, burn finished
the writer was all over the place speed wise, total time 20 mins. Dvd
speed transfer test is a bit mountainous, but all reads back OK.
Disk 2 (this one has a huge deep scratch + scuff marks)
4.3 gig of MP3s at 4x on the fly.
Wrote at 4x all the way, perfect dvd speed results
I am impressed that these disks worked at all, seeing the state they
were in. My Liteon players are very quick to read from assorted points
on both dvdrs. (I didn't
know my 105 could switch speeds up and down in mid burn)
Compared to the other 4x disks I have tried
better than datawrite red or yellow
equal or maybe better than Bulkpaq Orange

Burnt at 4x
Time burning: 10:18
On inspection of the disc i found nothing wrong with it, a perfect
purple surface. During the burn process there were no errors and the
recording buffer didn't fluctuate beyond 91-97% all the way through so there was no chance
of a buffer underrun. I've now tested the game on my xbox and it works
flawlessly, tried booting it 5 times and it loaded everytime. It plays smoothly and as a
delightful suprise i found that my console doesn't sound like an
airplane taking off when its reading the
disc unlike other media i've used at 4x.
::: Disc 2 :::
Midnight Club 2 - Xbox (Downloaded ISO)
3228MB
Burnt at 4x
Time burning: 11:16
I did find some minor scuff marks on the disc, but they seemed
quite unnoticable, however some dust had gathered on the surface after
i left it on my desk so i tried to clean it using the ol' shirt rub, it got rid of the dust but
made a few more minor marks on the surface. The burn process had no
errors and the speed stayed constant throughout although i cant comment on the recording buffer
becuase i was having too much fun playing burnout 2. The game booted
flawlessly 5 times out of 5 and plays smoothly however the fmv sequences in the game (which are
aplenty) play very jaggedly with the sound skipping out quite a lot,
that may have been due to the
scuff marks or fast burn speed. So other than that the burn was pretty much perfect.
In conclusion the disc burns well at 4x for console games but may
be a little temperamental when it comes to minor scratches, however
this may have been an isolated case and could have been explained through a number of other
reasons (e.g. bad rip, fast burn) so i wouldn't rely on my testimony
alone. Despite the fact that the burns were fast, had no errors and played well (not to mention
quietly) i think i'd personally stick to the brand i'm currently with
since i'm not quite ready to make
the investment of 100 discs on a media i'm not 100% about. But maybe after 10 or 20 more positive reviews i could be won over

DVDInfo 1.05 reports them as Leaddata01 as the manufacturer and a write speed as 4X
tested using the following
Pioneer 106 Burner fw 1.05
Liteon 166S DVD reader
Windows XP
Stomp RecordNow 4.5 as burning software
First impressions of the disc (which arrived in a plastic sleeves
and in pristine condition) were good. Dye looks uniform across its
entire surface. The top surface is
a shiny silver mirror top with black writing and logo's. The only problem is that all thumb marks are clearly visible.
With the first disc i copied a full 4.3 gig movie @ 4x on 106 with
f/w 1.05 using RecordNow Max. Total recording time was 15:06 so we are
talking 4X recording. Disc varified without problems and a Nero CDspeed surface scan was 100%
good. Tested movie in Pioneer 656A,Toshiba 210E and Xbox. Loading
seemed fine in all cases. Chapter
skips were virtually instant and no problems playing from start to finish.
Second disc burned @ 4x on Pioneer 106 f/w 1.05 using RecortdNow
Max. This time a XBOX ISO. Loading times were very good. No pauses or
skipping during loading or
gameplay.
So first batches looking good. I'll be buying some of these. Here hoping for a bit of consistancy in manufacturing at last.

Tested first disc recording a film 4.1 gig from my h/d this completed in 14 mins at 4x, yes my first 4x adventure on my sony.
Second disc recorded a film 4.3 gig on the fly this took 31 mins 2x
but ithink this maybe down to my dvd-rom not reading fast enough??
Both discs played fine on pc, ps2 and scan dvd.
In conclusion these discs do at least burn at 4x which is better than the other reviews i`ve done with my sony,

received my discs in the post this morning - suprisingly scratch free!!
hardware:
Sony DRU-500AX (firmware 2.0f) in an external USB2 case
tested on 2 PC's, writing same data (backup of Iron Maiden - Rock In Rio, disc 1)
PC1: Athlon XP2000+, 512MB DDR, 400GB RAID-5 (IDE), Win2000 SP3
PC2: P4 1.5G, 512MB SDRAM, 40 + 160GB IDE drives, Win2000 SP4
- both using Nero v5.5.10.28 for writing and have LiteOn LTD-166S
DVDROM drives. The writer will write quite happily at 4X on either
machine ... if fed Verbatim blanks
... so there are no performance issues on either machine to affect the burn speed.
PC1 burnt successfully ... but at 2X , however it did verify OK.
Nero CD speed test showed a pretty flat curve right up to the very end
where it dropped very slightly
(9X to 8X), a couple of other little glitches but nothing major.
PC2 burnt the same data at 2X ... again, verification of data passed OK.
both discs play fine on either PC (using the DVDROM) and on a Sony DVP-NS905 DVD player.
thanks for being given the discs to test, maybe others will burn at 4X!! (damn picky Sony writer )

received discs this morning. both a bit scratched but that's due to the plastic sleeves.
personally, I don't like the appearance of disc. the shiny silver top gets scratched and greased up by fingerprints too easily.
but that's not really an important issue.
for both discs, I used Nero to burn.
Athlon 2GHz, 512MB RAM - Windows XP.
disc 1 - I did a ps2 game - stuntman - burnt at 4x from image file. no buffer under-run. disc played without problems.
disc 2 - I did a film - men in black 2 - burnt at 4x on the fly -
as I don't usually do this, I was quite impressed with the results.
slight buffer underun, nothing
much though. finished disc played on panasonic standalone dvd player fine. also worked on ps2.
conclusion - although these discs worked well, they performed no
better than the 80p ICE white discs I already use. And at £1.13 a disc
they are too expensive for me
to consider them as a realistic alternative.
Thanks for the test discs.

Got the disks they wasn't a mark on them I am glad to say

I also sent this disk to a m8 down south and I am waiting to see how it plays on his dvd players.

Again absolute perfect results on my dvd players. I am taking the disk to a m8s this weekend to see how it fairs on

First disc burnt was lethal weapon 4 film only burnt in 15 mins and
this was a 4,489.25 file so was filling the disc to the brim.
Loaded quitely and played fine slipped chapters well.
2nd disc
cult kids classics 2
from an iso burnt in 14 mins(not quite a full disc) loaded quitely but was very jumpy with the intros until it got to
the menu.Play the eps ok so I cannot be sure it was because the discs
were scratched on arrival or if
it doesn't like menu systems like the reds didn't.
Overall There are discs that do the same job cheaper and as they were
damaged I can't say if the disc was at fault or the condtion of
them.Judging by the smooth loading I
would say the condition was more responsible as many other media types are noisier than this disc when they load.
Thanks fo rthe opportunity to test them pity they were scratched to the extent a review is difficult to perform fairly. I would suggest that all companies sending media send them with the
writing side facing inwards and the printed side outward to protect the
discs for knocks etc.Alternatively fold carboard around them to protect them after
all these reviews are for their benefit to sell their media but if they
are damaged when recieved
makes a fair review impossible.

Pioneer A05 DVD Burner

Nero CD-Speed
Ronin P703 standalone DVD-Player
Both Discs are in good condition in their sleeves, no dirt or scratches. Nice even dye to the edge of the disc.
Test Disc 1 Burnt a 4.20gb film at 4x taking just over 14 minutes. Graph in
Nero CD-speed (using Pioneer 120) was near perfect - nice straight
gradual curve with only a few jitters at the start of the disc. Playback was flawless on the
Ronin dvd player, fast chapter skip and fast forward/rewind. No
stuttering/skipping. Same results for
playing in Pioneer 120 dvd-rom and A05.
Test Disc 2 Burnt a 4.35gb film at 4x taking just over 15 minutes. Graph in
Nero CD-speed (using Pioneer A05) was perfect - nice straight gradual
curve with very minor imperfections on the curve - A result I've yet to find with a good
many discs I've used. Playback was flawless on the Ronin dvd player,
fast chapter skip and fast forward/rewind. No stuttering/skipping. Pioneer 120 dvd-rom didn't
like this disc at all, taking a long time to spin up and very stuttered
playback. A05 had no
problems playing back this disc.
Conclusion: These discs are of very high quality and the results show that. The
fact it doesn't read back in the Pioneer 120 doesn't concern me that
much as I've had other discs that wouldn't read in it but were perfect. I've had a few of these
discs before this test and had varied results with them, being able to
burn at 2x only or no playback in any device was the main problem with them. I can only
hope from these test discs that these problems have been sorted. I
think the current pricing of these discs is fair, falling midway between the Princo 4x and Ritek 4x
discs, but I would like to see it fall further before commiting to
buying more. They do an excellent job but there are cheaper alternatives that do the same job just as
well - the lower quality not affecting the operation of the disc.
Thank you for including me in the test
roland_da_rat
tested the o1ne dvdr and i gotta say they r the dogs danglies
burnt ps2 dvdr and it loads very quickly and no freezing during play
also burnt a film on the fly x 4 speed and it plays sooooooo smooooooth
no glitches and seems very compatible.
ill sure be buying plenty of these
granados Discs arrived in plastic sleeves inside a crumpled envolope,
examining the surface there were numerous fine scratches on both discs. Using a Pioneer dvdr104 with 1.41 firmware at 2 speed on my
1.3Ghtz Duron using latest wersion of neroburn I recorded a 4.36 GB
movie onto each disc. Tested in my pioneer dvd104 using nero cdspeed both discs
produced a perfect curve up to the last 2 reads which dropped of (but
still readable).
Plays perfect on.
Limit A900
Musstek V62
Then I tested it on a Samsung dvd709 which jumps and skips on all
the dvdr's I have put in it. Both these dscs skipped once or twice near
the beginning but watching 15
mins in the middle and 15 mins at the end it did not jump once. This disc seems to have a great compatability with all players and
considering the state of the discs I recieved play brilliantly. I have
seen them at just over £1 per
disc and if subsiquent batches turn out as good as this would pay the extra for them.

Disk 1 was a self rip of Fight Club. Burnt in Nero set to 4x, but
took 30mins to write so I assume it was only actually written at 2x.
Plays fine in my lite-on 165
DVD-ROM and my Pioneer 340 Standalone player.
Disk 2 again was a self rip of Go, Nero set @ 4x, but still took
30minutes to complete, so another 2x burn. Again also played fine in
all my players. Conclusion: Doesn't seem to like burning @ 4x in a Sony drive, but
the finished result is of a high standard. There are disks that do
write @ 4x in a Sony so maybe the
01ne disk is not for you, but however if you are happy burning at 2x the disk can not be faulted.
P.S. thanks for allowing me to take part in the test
GarethH Received these discs yesterday and have just burnt both now. Discs
were completetly free of dust and scratches and the unburnt dye looks
consistant accross the disc. Disc One: Burned at 4x in 14.5 minutes. Played back flawlessly on
all my machines including Pioneer 747A, Toshiba 100E, XBOX, PS2 and
both my PC DVD drives.
Disc Two: Burnt at 2x this time. Played back flawlessly on all machines just like the first disc.
Overall: Excellent disc. If they offered it in a white top so I
dont get that crappy reflective top then i'd definitly buy them.
However, at the moment I'm sticking
with FWS Ritek discs.

Disc 1.
Burnt at 4x with recordmax. Used The transpoter rip 4.3 gig from HD. Wouldnt play on my Panasonic HT80. Played on my Dansai 852, but
paused 3 times in first 10 mins, and then at odd intervals thoughout
the movie.Chapter skipping was
smooth, played very quietly.
Disc 2.
Burnt at 2x with recordmax. Used The transporter again from HD.
Wouldnt play on my Panasonic HT80. Played on my Dansai 852. a few pauses again at the start and again at the end of the movie.
Checked both burns with nero cd burn utility and both burns were
good quality. a few small dips here and there, but nothing major.
I then did the same project with a ritek disc at 2x and it played flawlesly on both my dvd players.
In conclusion.
I wont be using them. They seem to burn fine but dont play back so
great for me. I wish these disc manufatuers would get their heads
together and come up with a ritek clone dye( nice and dark) and then we will all be winners. I think
if you ask any-body which discs are the best you will only get one
answer. Sorry and thanks for the

CDSpeed showed a nice smooth line all the way. Full CDSpeed test results here
DVD playback using WinDVD was perfect all the way through, but my
Cyberhome AD-L528 refused to recognise the disk ("Bad Disk"). I'm
assuming this was a problem caused
by me using Nero wrongly, because I normally use Prassi but wanted to test the disk using another package as well
Conclusion
This does seem to be a nice disk, and I understand that Lead Data
have a good reputation for quality, so should be a winner. Will I be
using them? Well that depends on how well I get on with the Tangos - at nearly 30p per disk cheaper
and so far no problems with them, I'll probably stick with them, but
should the notorious Princo QA
problems raise their ugly heads, then I could probably be persuaded to use the 01ne 4x disks.
[Update 13 July]
Both disks play perfectly all the way through on a Pioneer DV-444-S and on an Audioline A1460 DVD/TV Combi.

Disk 1 Ripped Red Dragon to Harddrive using DVD Decrypter then downsized
and burned film to disk at 2x using Instantcopy 7 . Takes about 2 hrs
in total to complete . Film runs through Nero CDSpeed with a lovely straight line indicating a
good burn but somewhere along the line InstantCopy has lost the menu
screen . Film plays fine even
though you can't see the menu in my PS2's and my standalone .
Disk2 Due to the first disk not working properly used the same Decrypter
rip and downsized just the movie using DVD2ONE and burnt at 2x . This
took a total of 53 mins to
downsize and burn . Film plays back perfect , and is easily detected in everything you play it in .
Disk appearance isn't too bad and the surface is easy to write on .
Dye is a nice even colour . One little niggle I noticed is that around
the rim the edge is a little rough , I dont know wheter it is glue that is used to stick the 2
sides together or some type of laquer used on the top layer but it
definitely feels like little runs
around the edge . Hopefully this will be tarted up if they go into full production .
All in all a disk worth buying and they're not a bad price either if they come out at a suggested £1.13.

copy of open all hours series -1- on dvd, this was compressed with clone dvd 1.7 it came in at 4.27 gb,
watched a couple of episodes, perfect playback no skipping, fast searching,
and disk was picked up fast in dvd player.
one 4.7gb dvd-r disc2,
burned at 4x
burned a copy of die hard vendetta for ps2, stuck it in the ps2
it loaded very fast the movies played fine no skipping or freezing.
seem good for ps2. as my ps2 is a little fussy. in fact both my dvd player and ps2 have been
known to be fussy. so these disks worked perfect in both so credit to them.
so they get the thumbs up so far,
as a final test i imaged both of the disks using primo dvd, just to make sure the discs
were fully readable, both the disks imaged without a problem.
well as a final conclusion i dont like the plain silver with black
text i think it makes the disks look cheap. i would prefer plain white
top, but thats about the only critisism i can have against them the disks performance was very
good indeed, the dye reminded me of naya disks for some reason, but
they were very good, im not shure
about the price point if they could get these out for 90p a shot id buy a lot of these.
as it stands there price point is to close to more tried a trusted disks.

Pioneer 105
I wrote 3.4GB of data on the first disc with a test write using
nero burnt o.k until 1.9GB then the test failed then re-wrote the data
after a system defrag using diskeeper and then a restart and the data burned fine and fast when
the data was read the data was easily readable and there were no drive
access slowdowns associated
with read errors. For the second disc I made a backup copy of Minority Report using

bitch. No sound of the laser straining.
Conclusion - Very impressed at the moment but I've only used two
disks. If I spot them in any shops I'll buy a stack to try. Only place
I've seen them though is
online.

Firstly thanx for letting me do another test for you..
Discs came in plastic sleeves with a few scratches on but not enough to total the discs..
Specs:-
Amd Athlon Xp2200+
IBM 80Gig HD
384 DDR Ram
Pioneer 104 with 1.41 Firmware
Software Used:-
Windows XP Pro 2600 with SP1
DVD Decrypter
Ulead DVD Workshop 1.3
DVD Shrink
Canopus Procoder 1.2
Stomp Recordnow Max 4.5
Players Tested On:-
Playstation 2
Sony NS300 DVD Player
Pioneer 444 DVD Player
Pacific DVD1002 DVD Player
Disc One.... Created a full copy of 28 Days Later with DVD Decrypter to my hard
drive. Shrunk with DVD Shrink to fit on the dvd and burned the folders
with Record Now Max at 2x.
Conclusion...
Movie plays flawelessly in all dvd players but will pause occasionally for a fraction of a second on the ps2. Now to Disc Two..
Disc Two.... Had an avi of A Man Apart DVD Screener. Encoded with canopus at
352/576 at 4000cbr with the audio being 384 mpeg2. Created a menu using
ulead and added a trailer also
encoded using the same settings. Made the video_ts folder and burned once again using Recordnow Max at 2x.
Conclusion... Menus move fast no long seek times movie plays to the end on most
players with no problems. The only player that had a problem was the
pioneer with the sound
ocassionally disappearing but that'll be me encoding the audio to loud.
Discs Final Notes... Nice thick disc worth the money i will be buying a few of these.
Although the discs were scratched i had no seeking probs with my
players at all.
sithlord
2 discs arrived this morning again individually sleeved.
batch code = A3VL3305E193
both discs have some minor scratches nothing to bad.
Discs look nice and clean (not to in your face) nice large area to
write down whats on the disc. the only issue i have with the appearance
is the outer edge of the
disc, my samples have a lumpy uneven finish.
This is something i would expect from a disc sub 80p disc not one that costs £1 upwards.

Disc 1
Burnt a 4.33Gig movie for the first disc.
Disc took 71.15mins to burn with no errors.
Tested playback in :-
Xbox (Thompson DVD)
Playstation 2 (Ver 4)
Yukai 520V
disc playback was as good as the original and chapter skipping proved no problem too.
Disc 2
Used the second disc for an XBox game of 3.37Gig.
Disc took 13.30 mins to burn again with no errors.
Tested in the xbox with excelent results, the disc reading was as quick as the original disc.
Conclusion
Very very nice discs, both wrote at 4 speed with no errors and played back just like the originals.
these discs are well worth the money, but i would like to see the ruff edge sorted out.
mintyfresh
Received the discs on Saturday in quite a good condition, only a few minor scrathes.
Hardware used:
Athlon XP 2000+
512Mb DDR PC2100
80Gb Seagate Hard Drive
Sony DRU-500A (with 1.0g firmware)
Disc 1 - burnt a DVD movie that was just over 4.3gb to ensure most
of the disc was filled. This burnt without any problem at 4x using DVD
Decrypter. However, upon testing in a Pioneer 350 the picture began to break up quite early
on, only about 15minutes into the film. Tried the same disc in a
Panasonic player and again similar
results. It played fine in DVD Rom drive though.
Disc 2 - burnt an XBox image that was just over 4gb. This again
burnt in about 15 minutes at 4x. The disc loaded up and played fine in
my XBox, disc reading was fairly
quick similar to other DVDR discs.
Conclusion - the discs seem to be okay, but i would prefer to try
some more before giving a firm conclusion as one worked perfectly and
the other didn't. For the price
i would probably continue using Datawrite reds as these have not given me many problems.
the meister Discs arrived this morning well packaged in individual sleeves,
both looked ok at first glance and free from any scratches, but on
further inspection i found the edge
of both discs very shabby indeed, full of lumps and bumps.
hardware burnt on
gigabyte ga 7dxe

promise ata133 raid card
20 gig seagate
40gig seagate
80 gig seagate
lite on 165h dvdrom

disc 1
burnt donnie darko 4.4 gig in 15 mins tested in both musteks which arent to fussy about what i put in
them and the film pixelates and breaks up about 20 mins from the end
and eventually locks up.
disc 2
burnt what a girl wants 4.2 gig in 15 mins
tested in same players and it freezes after about 2 mins of playing
i have since re done the same films onto my normal discs and both
play faultlessly. so unfortunately i can only have negative thoughts
about these discs.
both discs have a batch code of :- A3VL3303E183.
I havent bothered running them through nero cd speed as if they
wont play in my dvd players its not much consolation if my dvdrom reads
them, so in the bin they have
gone.

Recieved my 2 discs this morning
Spec:
AMD XP2700+
RAM: 512mb PC3200
Writer: NEC ND1300a
Firmware: Herrie's 1.02 FW
Reader: Creative Labs PC-DVD 5x
Software: Stomp RecordNow MAX
Disc 1:
On the Fly copy of Gangs of New York
Write Time: 15:27
Flawless playback, no problems with chapter skipping, worked perfectly on my DVD-Rom Drive, XBOX and standalone
Disc 2:
Image Write of midtown Madness 3
Write time: 14:31
Worked perfectly on my playback, experienced none of the choppiness and sound pauses when using bulkpaq greens.
Would recommend these discs good quality output for writing at 4x. I've got 100 on the way to me from dp
kopyo
using the following
Pioneer 105 F/W 1.30
Athlon 2500+
Asus A7N8X-Deluxe
512 PC3200 ram
Disk 1+2 burnt a backup of gladiator DVD's
Tested on the following DVD players:
Sony
Yamada
Both disks worked as advertised and I'm very happy with them, let's hope the price will also make me happy.
The 0ne dvd-r are very good i will be buying some when i next require disks
riget
Got the disc's Saturday
Disc 1
Filled with mp3, at 4x
Disc 2
burnt a film at 4x
Useing pioneer 105
Both disc's work on my pc and my Pacific dvd player.
Conclusion
With my results and them above I think these disc's will be a top seller if the price is kept competative.

Discs arrived this morning.
Upon inspection the writing surfaces were found to be in perfect
condition, with a uniform dye throughout the disc and no blotches (this
was quite easy to see, and was helped by the fact the discs are quite translucent when placed
infront of a light source such as daylight from window, or distant
lightbulb). As has been mentioned already by sithlord and the meister, the edge
of the discs is farly bumpy. However, after comparing them to an 80p
disc (princo) as suggested by sithlord i would note that whilst bumpy, the edge of the disc has
more null material before the writing surface than the princod do, so
im not sure it is that much of
an issue. Certainly, in both my 105 and lite on, as well as the standalone no signs(sounds) of poor balance were observed.
Both discs belinged to batch A3VL3303E173, with the rest of the
sequence which i assume to be a disc number differing only by 1 in the
final digit suggesting
sequential production examples.
Drives Used:
Pioneer 105 (v1.30 Official)
Lite On LTD163D (VGHR3)
Yamada DVD-2100
Disc1: A 4.36GB film was burned using RecordNow MAX at 4speed. Time to
complete was 15minutes, and verification passed successfully. Upon
playback in the yamada everythign was fine with quick load times, fast chapter skips, and playback
through ot the end of disc. Nero cd speed tests using the Lite On
yielded positive initial results, and pernickity finishing results, but this is quite typical of the
LTD163D i have found, average read speeds were in line with normal.
Disc2: A 4.35GB film, as before at 4 speed in RNM and taking 15minutes,
passing successfully on a verification run. This one seemed to exhibit
a slight delay in loading in the Yamada, but after checking the original it exhibits the exact
same behaviour, seems to be somthing the disc is having the player do
at the time, just a minimal 0.5sec delay, but obviously not attributal to the disc. Testing in
the lite on yielded similar results, smooth curve initially with a
couple ripples and then a shaky
finish, but rea speeds in line with normal.
Conclusion: A decent discat a decent price(£1.03), falling between the princos
and the G04's. I have ordered 25 of these to do further testing before
making my mind up for sure, and ill obviously add any further findings here in the case they
are contrary to what ive said here. In terms of aesthetics i find the
disc nice enough looking, although im not too keen on the surface itself as its quite clingy
and susceptible to fingerprints, but this is something i consider very
much secondary to the discs
performance, which was spot on

p4 2.4
512mb ddr
liteon 163d dvd
win me
discs arived with no scraches and i tested by doing the following first i backed up midtown madness 3 using stomp at 4x it completed
in 18mins it done 56% fast and slowed down on the rest worked fine. then put 3 divxs on using stomp again and completed in 16 mins of
3.465 of films. and stayed at the same speed until getting right
towards end and again slowed down
worked fine in the liteon dvd. and in a amd 900 again with a liteon dvd.
my conclusion. very good dvdrs and compatible with most i will be ordering some of
these as they brought much better results than my bulkpaq orange.

Both Discs arrived ok
Athlon xp 2.4
Sony DRU 500A ver 2e
Nero - latest update
Burnt 2 4.5 gig films
Nero reported 4x but actually burnt at 2x
Both discs played fine on a cyber home 512 (Sometimes fussy)
and a Maxin 11-20 (will play anything but can have sound sync probs.)
Would buy if price right
Tan Coul Burned one data disc and one video (DVD9 compressed to 4.4Gb with
DVDShrink) - both burned at 4x, data disc reads fine in my pc (no
others handy to tst in unfortunately), video plays to end without problems in my Alba 114
player - if a few more pence could be shaved off the unit cost these
would be near the top of my
list from first impressions...

Discs finally arrived yesterday (was too busy to post last night).
They arrived in a plain envelope with each disc in a plastic sleeve. Unfortunately I don't think they proper closed the sleeves as the
discs were kind of loose inside the envelope which scratched them
rather bad. disc 1 (least scratched) burned 4.28GB film, graph was a little
bouncy probably due to scratches, but passed verify test and was
watchable the whole way through on my
