Pioneer DVR-107 Patched Firmware v1.13

***Update***

The patched firmware has undergone a few minor changes since its initial release and I recommend that you update to the final release #4 from our site, the file name is the same as before but the read-me states release #4

    - nx4all is disabled on +RW media and will remain so.
    - Due to erasing issues with the 2.4x speed +RW media with the speed restrictions removed the restrictions have been left in place for this media
    - RITEK R03 and CMC MAG_E01 +R media should have all speed enabled
    - Pioneer chose to restrict the burning speed of this media to 4x maximum this restriction has now been removed

>NIL: from the Firmware Forums has done it again and patched the latest 1.13 firmware for the Pioneer DVR-107. This firmware makes the drive RPC1 region free, removes the 2x rip speed limitation for DVD-VIDEO and enables 8 speed burning to any DVD-R or DVD+R disc.

The firmware, although experimental, is getting some good results at burning 4x media at 6x and 8x.

This firmware does not affect the normal burning of media already accepted by the firmware tables - it just increases the burning rates for lower speed media.

Prefect burns at high speed are not guaranteed and will vary between systems but so far the results are favorable with better grades of media. Any media that fails to burn at the faster speed can always be burnt at the speed they were intended with no adverse effect.

Currently the XL versions of this drive have not had their firmware patched

Caution
Applying hacked firmware can invalidate your warranty and although it has been extensively tested before it was submitted we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your drive or system from flashing it's firmware.

When flashing the firmware (hacked or otherwise) there is always a slight risk of something going wrong and sometimes it will not flash for a number of reasons. Have a look at the discussions on Firmware Forums.

Only apply the hacked firmware if you understand the risk and are prepared to accept the consequences.

The firmware is available here: Patched Firmware v 1.13.

DVRFlash 1.2 (needed to flash the firmware) is available here: DVRFlash 1.2.

A complete compilation for Windows XP users (ie the above two packages bundled) is available here: Patched Firmware v 1.13 - Windows XP Compilation.
