ASUS Releases 8x DVD±R Burner

Press Release: ASUS have introduced the DRW-0804P, which they claim is the world’s only DVD ReWriter supporting both 8X DVD-Write and 8X DVD+Write. The DRW-0804P also enables 4 X DVD-ReWrite, 4 X DVD+ReWrite, 12X DVD-ROM, 24X CD-Write, 24X CD-ReWrite and 40X CD-ROM to provide flexibility and high-speed operation.


The ASUS DRW-0804P

The DRW-0804P is a DVD±R/RW drive capable of reading data from and writing data on both DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW formats. With the dual compatibility feature, the DRW-0804P creates DVDs that can be played or read by most DVD-ROM drives and DVD players, making it perfect for multimedia data storage. It complies with the Enhanced-IDE Attachment Packet Interface (ATAPI) specification and comes equipped with the latest innovative technologies in DVD recording.

The DRW-0804P incorporated innovative technologies including ASUS FlextraLink and FlextraSpeed for a seamless fusion of flexibility, high-quality recording and reliable operation. FlextraLink prevents buffer underrun problems and eliminates the creation of unusable discs, while FlextraSpeed enhances accuracy and reliability when writing and rewriting across a broad range of media by automatically adjusting operation speed. Both ASUS proprietary technologies occupy minimal system resources, allowing the PC to remain fully operational and available for other applications even during the recording process. In addition, the DRW-0804P adopted LCT (Liquid Crystal Tilt) technology, which provides enhanced pick up head accuracy during recording and playback on disks with uneven curvature and thickness. With a full range of advanced features, burning a DVD (4.7GB or 4 hours) takes a mere seven minutes.
