Google and YouTube have been issued with a writ by Viacom alleging intentional copyright infringement of its works.
Viacom said in a statement that that 160,000 plus clips of its work had been made available on You Tube.
Google, as its owners, had not recognised the fair value of entertainment content, unlike other distributors. The value belongs to the creators and negotiations had been unproductive.
So Viacom is suing Google and wants an injunction as well as the damages.
