Facebook member now have the ability to use Facebook Connect to share their ratings of movies hosted on Netflix.
"Movies make for great conversations," Netflix VP of product management Gibson Biddle said in a statement.
"By integrating with Facebook Connect, Netflix members can now share their movie-watching experiences even more easily than before, allowing for greater exchange of movie recommendations with their friends."
Those who integrate Netflix ratings in Facebook will have their Netflix ratings automatically posted to Facebook every time they rate a new movie or TV series.
Friends of that Facebook member also have the ability to comment on the ratings, which adds an additional layer of social interaction to Facebook. Furthermore, users will be able to learn about new content from their Facebook friends, which adds additional value to the service.
Despite being a Netflix subscriber and Facebook member, this simply isn't a service that I'm likely going to use any time in the near future. If you're looking for an amusing time waster, and a feature that allows you to discuss movies with friends, then this might be right up your alley.
