Setting Up - Wheres manual? Okay one DVD players us blokes in other words there manual speak of. There a card tells buttons remote control - way black looks cheap plasticky(a minor grumble because sleek looks player) a warranty card. unit though clearly marked back where plugs go so manual just extra paper wastage. Now I ran my only problem. I a DTS amplifier use a fibre optic connection. There fibre optic connection a coaxial only connector later. At Movies - Watching a DVD Got popcorn juice my favourite DVD - Gladiator Russell Crowe so lets take a look. first thing surprised me was picture quality(aside there being only 4 zoom settings anyone zoom watching a movie?) really sharp crisp an entry level player really surprised me. Yukai really done a great job unit considering cost. Listening can only described a great soundtrack watching Gladiator was good considering was being split over a co-ax connection my five speakers I felt quality could better fibre optic (maybe thats just me). I fitted a 20gig hard drive spare IDE connecter check hard drive function. switching back Disc Disc function immediately selected hard drive image copy disc default. hard drive had split 4 equal sections labelled AA AB AC AD. hard drive partition selected setup menu default being AA. (Checking hard drive a PC see had done showed up unpartitioned nothing even though there 4 DVD images it.) Mode 2 Compare: comparing data mode 2 discs. Start-up command: select default start-up mode default mode COPY. simple DVD copying most functions can left copying simple put master disc in reader put blanks in writers press "GO" can’t much simpler. I tested various combinations mixed discs –R & -RW accept burn 6 different brands time erasing –RW before commencing burns. media compatibility writers in a PC copies produced copies done disc disc PC. Mixing 1x & 2 x media burn does give problems duplicator selects first IDE bus a disk 2x attempts burn discs 2x resulting in a fail any 1x discs in other drives.(The 1x discs written to.) first disk 1x record discs 1x any 2x disc try write 2x because buffer working 1x other discs 2x write interrupted buffer underun kick in can seen led’s drives flickering continuously burn I had one drive give up 80% burn. A04 drives supplied unit had a mixture firmware 1.20 & 1.30 initialy did seem give problems 1x speed there problem 2x mismatch in firmware caused discs faulter ½ burn so firmware drives need same. can only done in a PC so drives removed duplicator firmware updated. Conclusion unit very simple use once up requirements can operated almost anyone. controller only 2 buttons making operation simplicity itself. case very robust neat looking. unit a welcome addition any DVD copying up. Thanks Flash review.
